M.:Hi, mashal, how is your study of DNA8 coming
W: Slow but sure,I know the definition, it carrys the blueprint9 for human life, but I got more to learn ,you are working on DNA ,right
M;Yes, I have been studying the amount of DNA in fish and frogs, dig you know that some flogs have twice as much DNA as human being, and are you ready for this ,the African long fish has forty-two times as much
W:No, I didn’t ,my research has been focused on human beins,forty-two more than human’s,why long fish has so much DNA than we do,does it help them to produce more offspring
M:No ,probably not,but I can’t really tell you for sure yet, we are still just collecring data, doesn’t it seem strange that the amount of DNA in a relative simple organism like a fish is greater than that of a more complex organism such sa human being
W:It does seen odd,but come to think to it ,in highly organism only a tiny percentage of DNA ,less han about five percents,is necessary to carry instruction for producing ife, that means a lot of extra amount as well
M:The question is why,I saw one theory that says it is very likely some of extra DNA may selfishly reproduce and increase in number, totally indifferent the need of the organism that contains it
W:You are saying that section of the moleculat might act like parasite10 and live off the organism without contributing anything to it ,right ,I’ve heard about that theory too,but it is pretty controversial
M:Well not for long I hope, which remind ,I had better get back to my fish ,I should have been the lab an hour ago

M:So how was the singing competition last weekends

M;Hold on ,you are upset about finishing the second ,how many singing groups are competing
W; About thirty, I know second place sounds OD,but that three years in a row we have been second ,and it is the same group that beat us three years in a row
M:That too bad,but what about the beach ,I end up spend a lot time in the libraty ,I would love to at beach ,swimming in the ocean ,playing beach volleyball instead of being stuck in the library studying
W;Well ,it wasn’t exactly like that,I had spent some time studying too,we really don’t have much free time ,we were scheduled almost the whole time, practicing , performacing or watching the competition
M:So you were that busy,
W:Yeah ,but you know the ocean water is still cold ,so I don’t think we really miss too much M:Well ,you gosh may have got plans to go back when the semester is over
W:That is exactly what we have in our mind ,it should be a lot fun there when the weather warms up,and we don’t have to think about competing

1.
We’ve spent the last few weedks on the development of serious theaters in United States ,looking int the plays and play writers of the early 1900’s.our next unit is on American musical theater.this type of theater developed from both serious and popular art forms, like opera, dance ,drama and from a form of entainment called Vaudeville11,which is where we will start today.vaudevill shows originated in Europe and by the 1800’s become a popular form o entainment in America .they were basically a variety of shows ,featuring several live entainer ,singer ,dancer, magician ,acrobat12 and trained animals, it is as many as ten acts that largely unrelated in theme or style. By the early 1900, vaudeville theater had sprang up in all large cities, in the large theater, there were usually two performances a day ,some theater would come to be four performances a day , but with the introduction of silent films ,live performance had to compete with movie theaters, and vaudeville attendance started to decline ,some vaudeville theater started to show some movies as well, movies were showing between vaudeville act, that kept people for coming to vaudeville for a while, but when talking films arrived ,vaudeville faced even stiffer competition ,and then with the great depression in the 1930’s when the Americans has less income to spend on entainment and the growth of radio and around television programme, vaudeville experienced a further decline, pretty disappeared entirely13 by the end of the second world war
2.
We have been discussing some factors that influence the globe climate today we are going to a factor that you might find it surprising ,surprising because it is so small that you probable wouldn’t expect it to be important . that factor is dust ,by dust ,we don’t mean only tiny pieces of dirt, but any small particles, bacterium14, or fungus15 box. There are several methods to collect data on dust, one method is flying in the storm with alit craft equipped with dust collection devises ,we can then analyze16 the dust samples to find out what types of dust are present at a given time of year and at certain location and height in the atmosphere, well, why would you want to map out how the types and amount of dust varies under certain different circumstances, because different types of dust behave differently and affect the weather in different way. Some types of dust help rain droplet17 to form, however, other types of dust prevent rain., although some effects of dust on the climax18 now are understood ,there is some debate on the overall effect of dust on temperature ,for example, you know, the dust can cool our planet by blocking sunlight from reaching the ground ,on the other hand ,it can absorb sunlight ,warming the atmosphere ,this warming effect may have caused the ice age to end . hopefully ,more research will answer the question of just how dust affects the temperature
3.now many people living near the Mediterranean19 sea in ancient time had extensive shipping20 network ,two of the prominent are the Minoan and the Mycenaean .the Minoan lived on the island of kuit, they did extensive trade by sea trading farm products and highly priced bronze objects they made ,things like weapons and tools, they established a trading network or trading colonies through the east of Mediterranean ,and these became great commercial centers ,these commercial centers produced real wealth ,and the Minoans used these wealth to build palace and acre duct. The Minoan civilization reached its peak in the sixteen century B.C. but they gradually lost its dominance to the Mycenaean who were from the ----land ,well north of the Crete, the Mycenaean actually learned a lot about sea trade from the Minoan ,but this mentor21 relationship changed after a volcano erupted on the island of --- in 415B.C,that devastated22 Minoan ships and destroyed important part of Crete. After that, the Mycenaean become the dominant23 sea trader of this area, well,we know that natural disaster might have been largely responsible for the decline of the Minoan sea trade, but reasons for the decline of the Mycenaean sea trade are more controversial ,the key factor may have been the political unrest both internally among the Mycenaean and in countries they traded with ,which disrupted trade works.
